About Us

We practise what we preach

If you can say what you mean and make your ideas heard clearly and understood, you have one of the keys to success in every situation involving people. Ipswich Electrifiers is a group for people who want to improve their speaking skills. Whether you want to speak for business or as part of your job, for leisure or social occasions, our supportive and friendly atmosphere encourages you to “give it a try”. Members come from all age groups and backgrounds. If you are 18 years old or more you can join us. Come and spend an evening with us, without obligation or charge. You won’t have to give a speech, and you can join in as much or as little as you wish.

Club Aims

Whatever your goals in life may be, your success depends on your ability to communicate. Our aim is to enhance people’s ability to express themselves and communicate with others by helping them identify and build on the skills they already possess. We meet bi-weekly to practise speaking and leadership skills in a friendly supportive environment. Anyone over 18 is welcome to come along.

History

Ipswich Electrifiers takes its name from its original meeting place, at Eastern Electricity, where we held our first meeting in May, 1994. Ipswich Electrifiers is a member of Toastmasters International which is a non-profit-making, non-denominational and non-political organisation. Toastmasters International is not related to the red coated Guild of Toastmasters or to the Federation of Professional Toastmasters.
